WE BELIEVE IN A NEW CYCLE FOR FASHION.
We want to change it for the better. We want to inspire you to rethink the lifecycle of fashion and reimagine the clothing you wear. Our workshops will teach you the skills and techniques to extend the life of your clothing and empower you to take ownership of your wardrobe and help it evolve with you. We've created this as a platform and resource to encourage, enable and inspire creativity and sustainable design.
OUR STORY
Other Lives Studio is a concept hatched by friends and co-creators Betsy Flores and Kim Krempien. Having worked in fashion weeks around the world & designed for companies like Revolve, Nordstrom and Vince for over a decade, they grew frustrated with the quickening pace of the fashion cycle & the toll their beloved industry was taking on the environment. The two resolved to use their industry design experience to tackle the problem and came together to inspire a new cycle for fashion.
CODE OF ETHICS/ MATERIALS
All of our workshops are created not only to inspire creativity, but also with the mission of reducing textile and apparel waste in mind. To that end, we utilize deadstock fabric, pre-loved clothing and a thrifted miscellany of found objects as trims and materials for all our projects and workshops. We are inspired by the evolving challenge of creating within the constraints of discarded materials. There is a world of leftover objects to create with at our fingertips, we're here to turn it into something beautiful.
